Reservations aren’t required, but they are recommended. Calling ahead or reserving online guarantees your unit is ready when you arrive.
Reserving is easy! You can rent or reserve a unit online to get started quickly. You may also call us at (605) 591-9183 or visit our office.
No problem, you can cancel your reservation at any time with no penalty.
Access
Enjoy 24/7 access to your storage unit, so you can manage your belongings whenever it’s convenient for you.
If you forget your access code, simply contact us during business hours and we’ll be happy to help. For security purposes, a valid ID will be required to verify your identity.
B-21 Storage is conveniently located at 2120 N Elk Vale Rd, Box Elder, SD 57719, serving residents and businesses in Rapid City, Box Elder, Rapid Valley, Black Hawk, and surrounding areas.
Our office is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, to assist with unit rentals, questions, and support.

For additional peace of mind, we also offer an optional tenant protection plan.
Yes, you can choose to be the only authorized user or designate additional individuals to access your unit. Anyone you approve will receive their own unique access code for secure entry.

Climate-controlled units are indoor spaces designed to help protect your items from dust, pests, humidity, and extreme temperatures. These units stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, making them ideal for valuables, electronics, furniture, and sensitive items.
Yes, for safety and compliance, certain items are prohibited. These include:
- Firearms, ammunition, and explosives
- Food or pet food
- Flammable, explosive, or radioactive materials
- Live plants
- Hazardous substances such as lead paint, asbestos, petroleum products, or methane
- Medical waste
- Stolen goods
- Cash (not covered by insurance)

Lease & Payments
No long-term commitment required; all rentals are month-to-month, giving you total flexibility.
Payments can be made quickly and securely through our online bill pay system, and we accept all major credit cards.
Rent is due on the 1st of each month, with a 5-day grace period. Late fees begin on the 6th, and access may be restricted until the balance is paid. An additional fee applies if payment is not made by the 15th, as outlined in your rental agreement.
If rent remains unpaid, your belongings may be subject to auction under state law to cover outstanding balances and fees, with any remaining proceeds returned to you. We want to help you avoid this. Please contact us immediately if you need assistance.
